1. Introduction and Scope
This Dataset Licence & Data Access Policy governs the access, download, storage and use of football data made available through Footiqo (footiqo.com).
It applies to:
- Premium football datasets and data bundles.
- Free downloadable dataset samples.
- CSV and Excel exports available through public statistics tables.
- Other structured football data accessible through Footiqo.
This policy supplements our Terms of Use. All permissions are subject to applicable law, third-party rights and any additional conditions explicitly stated for a particular dataset.
2. Permitted Use of Downloaded Data
Users who legitimately obtain Footiqo data through our official download or export functions may use that data for personal, non-commercial research and internal analytical purposes, subject to this policy.
Permitted activities include:
- Downloading and storing datasets locally.
- Importing data into spreadsheets, SQL databases or analytical applications.
- Performing statistical analysis and historical research.
- Developing and testing predictive models.
- Conducting backtesting and machine-learning experiments.
- Creating calculated features, statistical indicators, probabilities and analytical outputs.
- Retaining privately developed models and their results.
These permissions apply to both free and purchased datasets, provided the data was obtained through an authorised Footiqo download or export method.
Commercial redistribution, publication of substantial underlying data, sublicensing or provision of data to third parties is not included in this standard permission.
3. Local Storage and Data Retention
Users may retain legitimately downloaded datasets on their own devices or private databases for permitted analytical purposes.
Downloaded files do not need to be deleted when the included dataset update period expires.
The expiration of an update period only affects access to future dataset updates. It does not automatically revoke permitted use of files already obtained.
Users remain responsible for keeping their copies secure and complying with the redistribution restrictions in this policy.
4. Redistribution and Prohibited Uses
Unless expressly authorised in writing by Footiqo, users must not:
- Sell, resell, sublicense or redistribute Footiqo datasets.
- Share complete datasets or substantial portions of their underlying data with third parties.
- Upload datasets to public repositories, file-sharing services or public databases.
- Republish Footiqo datasets as a competing football statistics database, website, API or commercial data feed.
- Provide third parties with automated access to substantial portions of Footiqo data.
- Circumvent access controls, purchase requirements, download limits or other technical restrictions.
Users may retain their own private analytical features, statistical summaries, models and probability outputs, provided these are not used to redistribute substantial underlying Footiqo data or reconstruct a competing database.
Nothing in this policy restricts uses that cannot lawfully be prohibited under applicable legislation.
5. Website Exports and Free Statistics
Footiqo may provide CSV or Excel export functions for selected public statistics tables.
Users may manually export data through these functions and retain it for permitted personal research and analysis.
Availability of an export function does not grant permission to automate repeated downloads, extract substantial portions of the website database or bypass normal access restrictions.
Export availability, coverage and included statistical fields may vary by page, competition, season and data source.
6. Automated Access, Scraping and APIs
Footiqo does not currently provide a public API for automated data retrieval.
Unless expressly authorised in writing by Footiqo, the following activities are not permitted:
- Automated scraping or crawling of football statistics pages.
- Automated bulk extraction of match records or historical statistics.
- Automated access to CSV, Excel or other export endpoints.
- Automated downloading of free or premium dataset files.
- Reverse-engineering private endpoints for data extraction.
- Bypassing rate limits, authentication, technical restrictions or access controls.
These restrictions apply regardless of request frequency, including low-frequency automated extraction and repeated requests spread over extended periods.
Automated processing of files that have already been legitimately downloaded is permitted within the scope of this policy. For example, importing an authorised Excel dataset into Python, R, C# or PostgreSQL for private analysis does not constitute prohibited website scraping.
Any automated access arrangement must be approved separately in writing.
7. Data Coverage, Sources and Quality
Footiqo datasets may contain historical match statistics, betting odds, calculated indicators and other football-related information.
Coverage and availability vary by competition, season, match, statistical field and betting market.
Data may be collected, processed, standardised, calculated, corrected or updated using different sources and methodologies. As a result, availability and methodological consistency should not be assumed across every season or competition.
Coverage files and dataset samples provide information about available fields and historical coverage, but do not guarantee that every statistic is available for every match.
Footiqo does not guarantee that all data is complete, accurate, error-free or suitable for any particular research, modelling or betting strategy.
8. Premium Datasets and Updates
Purchasing a premium dataset provides access to the purchased data files and the update period stated on the relevant product page or at checkout.
Dataset update access is time-limited according to the purchased product. The applicable update period and any renewal options are described on the corresponding product page.
After the included update period expires, users may retain and continue using files already downloaded under this policy.
Any future updates require valid update access or renewal, where offered.
Purchasing a dataset does not transfer ownership of the underlying database or grant redistribution rights.
9. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Rights
Footiqo’s original website content, database organisation, software, documentation and other protected materials are owned by Footiqo or used under applicable permissions.
Football statistics, factual information and third-party content may be subject to different rights or legal protections depending on their origin and applicable law.
This policy grants only the usage permissions that Footiqo is entitled to provide. It does not transfer intellectual property rights or override the rights of third-party data providers.
10. Commercial Use and Special Permissions
This standard policy is intended for personal, non-commercial research and internal analytical use.
Users who wish to redistribute Footiqo data, provide public data feeds, operate commercial products based on substantial portions of our datasets or obtain automated access must request separate written authorisation.
Requests can be sent to support@footiqo.com.
Footiqo is not obliged to grant such requests or provide a public API, custom export or automated integration.
11. Suspension and Enforcement
Footiqo may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate or prevent unauthorised extraction, account misuse, technical abuse or material violations of this policy.
Where appropriate, we may take further action to protect our legitimate rights and the security of our services, subject to applicable law and consumer rights.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our datasets, services, access methods or legal obligations.
The latest published version will indicate the date of the most recent update. Changes will apply prospectively, subject to applicable law and any binding terms agreed at the time of purchase.
